Seventh grade students at Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School had the privilege of participating in a memorable assembly sponsored by the POBMS PTA Cultural Arts Committee, featuring Brent Daniels, an award-winning composer, producer, sound designer and recording artist. Utilizing a state-of-the-art digital sampling keyboard workstation, Mr. Daniels delivered a dynamic, one-of-a-kind performance in collaboration with the students.

The assembly emphasized the connection between everyday technology, such as devices students use in class or at home, and the creation of the music and soundscapes they encounter in movies, video games and television. Student volunteers actively contributed to the performance, assisting Mr. Daniels in generating unique, on-the-spot sounds. By the conclusion of the assembly, students had collectively helped create an original composition that energized the entire auditorium and showcased the power of creativity, collaboration and technology in music-making.
