Author Sayantani DasGupta Visits POBMS for PARP Week

As part of PARP Week, author Sayantani DasGupta visited Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School to speak with students about her upcoming novel, The Theft of the Ruby Lotus. During the visit, she discussed her inspiration for the story, the history of art and museums, and answered students’ questions about her characters, creative process and the historical themes that shaped the book.

miniPOBots Earn Two Awards at FIRST LEGO League Qualifier

The miniPOBots and jrPOBots from POBMS competed in the FIRST LEGO League qualifier, where the miniPOBots earned the Second Place Robot Performance Award with 300 points and first place for the Rising Star Award.

Social Studies Students Hold Annual Rap Battle

Mrs. Meyer’s 6th Grade Social Studies students successfully concluded the annual Egyptian Rap Battle! Groups researched Ancient Egypt topics, wrote rap songs with key concepts, rehearsed for a week, and performed them for their peers. The students enjoyed creating something special together!
